Hot Shots Coffee & Tea, Solaris Dutamas

Hot Shots stays in my to go list for long. It is hard to arrange for a visit as this cafe only open the door on weekdays. No weekend, no PH. Days after days, finally a message from Hot Shots informing they are running business as usual on Labour Day. Good news for us, without second thought I dragged my mate here.

We arrived at late evening, nearly 5pm to be precise. A little late for a cuppa coffee? But, how can we resist to the famous Caramel Affogato? Put aside caffeine overdose issue, I insist to order for the signature. The serving is beautiful. Salted caramel ice cream in a small glass, a double espresso in another small mug. Beautiful. Not only the presentation, also the aroma of coffee in the air. We love this. The best affogato we ever had. Instead of using creamy vanilla ice cream, Hot Shots replaced it with salted caramel flavour. This salted caramel ice cream creates a mild salty based taste which well balance the sweetness from ice cream and bitterness in coffee. Perfect symphony.  

Other than coffee, Hot Shots is also famous for hot chocolate. My mate get himself a 'Seriously Rich' Hot Chocolate. We were first informed that 'Seriously Rich' was sold out, however, we were then re-informed it was still available. It was freshly made, for us, according the staff. My mate enjoyed it very much, especially the marsh mellow. I din't even manage to try a piece of it. Frankly, the hot chocolate was not up to my expectation. I was expecting it thicker and richer. We shall give it one more chance on our next visit. Yes, we shall try to arrange it again. I have yet to try the Waffle and Belgium Brownie, both look tempting.
